K9.0 Robotics FRC Team 8280

About Paw Prints

Paw Prints is a fabrication request platform run by K9.0 Robotics — FRC Team 8280, based in Detroit, MI. We open our shop to other FIRST Robotics Competition teams in the Motor City Alliance so every team has access to the manufacturing tools they need to compete.

K9.0 Robotics — Team 8280 ↗

K9.0 Robotics is a FIRST Robotics Competition team based at Marygrove in Detroit, Michigan, operating under the Motor City Alliance. The team was founded to give Detroit-area students hands-on experience in engineering, programming, and teamwork through competitive robotics.

Beyond competing, K9.0 is committed to supporting the broader FRC community in Southeast Michigan. Through Paw Prints, we extend access to our 3D printers, laser cutter, and CNC router to alliance partner teams — so every team can prototype, iterate, and build without needing their own equipment.

The team is led by Leon Pryor, Lead Coach and President of the Motor City Alliance, who can be reached at pawprints@k9robotics.org.

What Paw Prints Does

Paw Prints lets Metro Detroit FIRST teams submit design files for fabrication and track their requests through to completion — without any back-and-forth emails or lost messages.

3D Printing

FDM plastic parts from STL or 3MF files. Great for brackets, prototypes, and custom housings.

Laser Cutting

Wood, acrylic, and polycarbonate from DXF or SVG files. Fast turnaround on flat panels and gussets.

CNC Routing

Aluminum, HDPE, and wood on our OMIO router. Precision parts from DXF or CAM files.

How It Works

  1. 1Register your team — one account per team, takes less than a minute.
  2. 2Submit a request — upload your design file or paste a link, choose your service and material, and tell us how urgent it is.
  3. 3We fabricate it — K9.0 staff review your request, manufacture the part, and update the status as work progresses.
  4. 4Pick it up — collect your part at Marygrove, at a Motor City Alliance event, or we can mail it to you.
